Gothic Romance Sweet 16 Cake
Last weekend we had the pleasure of creating this multi-tiered gothic inspired sweet 16 cake for and event at the Martinsville Inn in Martinsville, NJ. 
The bottom tier is covered in red fondant and sponge painted for a rich, velvety look. We impressioned a quilted pattern and added gold dragees. A shiny black spider with a heart shaped body lowers himself down the side of this tier.
The next tier is white and black damask and features a ruffle band an skeleton cameo.
The top tier is also white with the birthday girl's name in gothic inspired fondant. The scalloped border, rosettes, and spider add a dark romantic feel to the cake.
The very top tier of this cake is a top hat that we sponge painted for texture.
Red sugar roses and petals add the finishing touch!
