We were super excited to do this cake, not just because it's superman (and he's like the hottest, eh I mean, coolest) superhero ever! The real reason is because we had just taken this awesome Craftsy Class called "Cut Out Cakes", by Mike McCarey.    We started with an 8" square cake which we cut and filled at an angle, each layer was flipped 180 degrees so ultimately we got a cake with a dramatic slant which we buttercreamed in preparation of the fondant layer which we added next.    We created this custom three tiered ladybug themed 1st birthday cake for our little friend, Nicolette! The bottom tier is white and is decorated with fondant ladybugs & lime green hearts. I especially love the dotted line that wraps around the cake! The middle tier is red with black polka dots. The top tier is white with lime hearts and a pretty little lady bug front and center!   

   This handpainted leopard print cake was created for a sweet 16 party at Madelines on Vosseller in Bound Brook, NJ. The cake was a 6,8,10" round tiered cake with a tier height of 5.5" each. First we covered the cake in ivory and lightly airbrushed the cake with gold to add depth. Then each tier was hand painted with the animal print pattern. Each tier has a fondant black sash and the top tier has a shiny black fondant bow. 

   We made this Twilight-Saga themed bridal shower cake for a die hard fan (obviously!) We decided to use the art from the series' book covers set atop a chessboard cake. The cake is paneled fondant that we painted to look like wood grain. The top of the cake mimics a chess board pattern and has a chocolate molded Queen chess piece and the red pawn from the Breaking Dawn book. We added a fondant torn ribbon to represent the Eclipse book and a gumpaste tulip to represent the New Moon book. The apple represents the book that started it...

   Chevron Inspired Baby Shower Cake This weekend we created this adorable chevron inspired baby shower cake. The mommy to be planned on announcing the baby's gender at the party so she wanted to stick with a pink, blue, grey, and white color scheme. I can't deny that while the pink and blue thing is...well...really not my thing, I absolutely LOVE how this cake turned out!
