Twilight Bridal Shower Cake

We made this Twilight-Saga themed bridal shower cake for a die hard fan (obviously!) We decided to use the art from the series' book covers set atop a chessboard cake. The cake is paneled fondant that we painted to look like wood grain. The top of the cake mimics a chess board pattern and has a chocolate molded Queen chess piece and the red pawn from the Breaking Dawn book. We added a fondant torn ribbon to represent the Eclipse book and a gumpaste tulip to represent the New Moon book. The apple represents the book that started it all - Twilight.
